I just purchased an XL7 last week. Mine came with an optional hitch package. Unfortunately I do not know the make. I'll try to report back later.

Default Tow Hitch

Etrailer has them. I installed the curt Class 2.5 model. It was a pain to get to all of the bolt holes due to the mufflers, but once it was done, it looked good. The next task is the wiring. I found the harness, but they due not have an adapter as of yet. I also found that the harness is dead. It looks like in order to make it active, you must buy a couple of relays for the engine fuse/relay box that are for the left and right trailer stop and turn signals. Maybe the individual that has the dealer or factory installed unit could provide the relay details for us. I have not gone to the dealer, yet. I was going to try the auto parts stores first, knowing that the deal will charge a premium.

Mikelike or anyone with an 07 with the tow package, can you possibly take a picture or get the numbers off of the relay 58 and 59 in the engine fuse/relay box. I have been trying to get these relays from the dealer, but they are having issues figuring out the proper part numbers. These two relays will drive the stop/turn lights for both sides of the trailer. Without them, the harness will not have power for the stop and turn lights.

Regards,

ivan

I am getting ready to mount a Reese Hitch to mine and I was looking where to attach the harness and didn't see any easy access, where was the harness located? Did anyone ever find you the relay part numbers? I have been looking around and couldn't find anything related to them but I have not checked with the dealer yet.

I have a feeling that we will be forced to buy the trailering kit for the vehicle. I have tried to hunt down the relays with the dealer, no luck there. I can't find the relay box diagram that I had gotten from the dealer. When I do, I can post the part numbers that I beleive are the relays. I have also been to Jameco, Allied, Mouser, and even Omron's web pages and can't seem to find a relay that matchs the trailering relay. They are SPST relays. The common rail positive terminals our on the drivers side of the relay sockets. The active ground terminal from the flasher is closest to the cab on the passenger side of the relay sockets. The feed terminal that leads to the harness is on the foward terminal on the passenger side of the sockets. The harness itself can be found high up where the jack is stored. Pull the jack, and reach your hand way up, and you will feel it. Relays 58 and 59 are the trailering relays, if I remember correctly. I took matters into my own hands, and built dual relay module with two 12V relays.
