Default Trailer light ground?

I just ordered the trailer lighting kit and wondered where anybody terminated the ground wire. The picture with the install instructions shows a ground on the Chevy and Pontiac that the XL7 doesn't have. Thanks.

I just drilled a hole in the bottom of the jack area and dremeled off the paint. Then put silicone over the whole thing to seal it up.

Is there a spot to feed it down next to the spare tire without drilling/saws-alling anything though? I thought I had found a spot in the tail light area as there was this square plastic cover under the passenger side tail light, but alas, there is a second "firewall" that prevents the feeding of the wire.

I don't know. I don't remember if there are any plugs or covers to feed the wire down permanently. It was just easier to put the cord back into the jack area when I don't use it. Then whenever I use the trailer I feed it thru the handle area and out the back gate and shut the gate.

If you have one of the plug plates that mount onto the hitch I'm sure you could find a way down under the car. I just don't remember seeing anything.

Well, per the other thread regarding a Towing Hitch, I was informed of a spot behind/below the jack that I could put the wiring harness through and then used some plastic zip ties to keep it connected to the hitch.

Ok, I looked at the spot your talking about and there is a rubber grommet with wires already going down under the car, but looking underneath the car I don't see where they are coming out. Looks like they might be coming out next to the mufflers where there is a box looking thing for frame support. If so then it would be hard to fish the wires through there.

Here's a picture of where I am talking about:

Look directly in the center of the photo for where I fed my wire. This is a picture of the bottom of the car jack compartment without the jack in it. I had to cut one of the vertical plastic stabalizers to get the 4 port holdster.
