So I want to warn other newbies that no reason to buy trailer hitch for XL7 with class higher than 2 because it is included up to 3500lb already. So you can save even more money if you install just class 2 hitch. It also will be much safer for you
Wow, after reading your post, I have to change my perspective regarding the trailer hitch. Sometimes I feel like the only person that still reads the owners manual before driving the car....

I feel so old and I'm 33...

Why wouldn't you go with class 3 for the peace of mind? Even if you don't pull close to the 3500lb limit it is more heavy duty compared to a class 2. Spend the extra coin for something that is better built.

My kart trailer isn't quite as big as the u-haul. It is a 5x10, but I bet I'm getting close to 3000lbs with both karts and tools in it. The Zuki pulled it great all the way from Wisconsin to St. Louis for my race last month. Just make sure you use the sport shift mode to shift at a higher rpm.

Default Hitch Help

I have a 2004 XL-7, does anyone know where the wiring plug is for the hitch . I have a Class III Hidden Hitch with their wire plug but don't know where to plug it in. Their add says behind the drivers seat, threads say near the jack, others say high behind tail light.
Thanks
Richard

If it is like the 2002, it is under the rear AC fan. It is on the drivers side, rear panel of the truck. I have to pull the rear trim, storage box, and side panel to get to it.

REgards,

Thanks, I found it finally, getting the plug on finally happened too, the more you take off the better I suppose but the third seat makes it a challenge. Thanke for taking the time to reply. Merry Christmas.

Default Wiring routing

I have just installed a Class III Draw Tite on my 2008 XL7. How are people routing the wiring down to the receiver from the plug in the jack compartment?

Thanks

I just wrapped the whole thing with electrical tape and just pull it through the rear gate. The weather stripping lets it go through no problems. I usually put the tire compartment cover back on and feed it through the handle area at the bottom.
