Default Pics please...

If anyone can would you please post pics of the optional hitch on the vehicle and maybe pics with an aftermarket hich as well? I just dont think its worth the $$ the dealer wants to charge me and I dont mind doing the install my self so if I can save some cash I will.

Thank you

With aftermarket you get a lot more towing capacity vs. oem in addition to it being a whole lot cheaper.

Default valley hitch

I got a Valley hitch round tube type class III/IV from hitches4less.com.
It was 149.00 + free shipping. Valley hitch number 82552. it wasnt listed on the website so i called them and they calley valley directly and got me the hitch. they were great about calling the mfgr and seeing about the part number and ordering it. There are several square style hitches out there for 120.00 but i like the looks of the round tube style. It was easy to put on myself approx 15-20 min. It was tight fitting my hand beside the mufflers to put the bolts in but not too bad.

If only the wiring harness wasnt 120.00 from the stealer. no aftermarket harness yet.

hope this info helps!!

Default Trailer Hitch.

I have seen class two hitch for the XL-7's on ebay as well. As for the lights you should be able to get an after market connector that plugs in to the rear tail light at any trailer supply store. I was smart and had everything installed as part of the new vehicle deal to avoid all of this.

I have installed the following,
87436 Class III Hitch - Suzuki Xl7
118432 T-one Wiring Harness - Equinox
Bumper Guard
Ballmount Class Iii 2" Drop 9" Long No Pc3
Ball 1-7/8x1x2-1/8
Lock, Class Iii Bent Pin With Push Button

bought from etrailer.com shipped for less than $200. It took me about two hours to install but I am really anal, I locktited every bolt and did it myself without ANY help. I only tow a 500 lbs Aprilia scooter about once a year but where I live we get a lot of tourist and that hitch hanging behind the XL7 is a deterrent for tourist that want to get too close to my rear bumper. I will take pics and post tonight.
There you go:
