Default Moisture

Moisture check is easy enough. Just look through be front of the lens. Is there water pooling? Condensation on the inside? It should be obvious if there's a deal issue.

Also silvers stars last a SHORTER amount of time. To put out more light they burn hotter. Hotter bulbs don't last as long, also he filaments are more fragile since they're under heat, not too great for off roaring dependability if you're into that.

Currently: preping some higher flow injectors for install in the next couple days.

Upcoming/planned mods: Overbore, port and polish, Oversized pistons & rods, Header, adjusting ecm settings.

Maybe one day Turbo, high flow exhaust.

Is this based on experience or hearsay? My experiences (mentioned about two posts up) are distinctly different.

Chigram - two questions - does your car have DRLs (daytime running lights) and are the high and low beam lights separate.

I would also advise against HID conversions - I believe you're in Chicago, if that's right, such a conversion would be illegal uinder the FMVSS108 regulations - I think edersolis is in the caribbean, where such conversions are not regulated.

Based on my job. I sell parts at O'reillys. If I haven't used something, I have factory specs, years upon years of coworker experience and knowledge, and I can even tell you about how often people come in because they touched a bulb or expected silver stars to last the same time as stock.

Well now you know at least one person whose experience runs contrary to the norm - think about this - you rarely get feedback from the users who are satisfied with the product, it's the disatisfied users who come back to complain.

Fordem - My 08 does have DRLs. My guess is the highs and lows are seperate, tho both engaged via turn stick.

I agree you must have got a good batch. I have tryed them in my 03 accord and they lasted a year two sets. total for that one. and also in the GV and two sets as well till I finally gave up and went back to the standard bulbs. that set has lasted me at least two years and still going strong.. Knock on wood.
Perhaps your not on as rough of roads as we have in Ontario?

Thumbs up Bright Lites

Hi auto elves!

So, I went to the fav AutoZ yesterday and younger associate did bulb check on both bulbs, secured wiring cable and I'm full force again. I think I can mirror the technique now -- Sherlock sayz, stay away from dealer!

Sev3n - Does O'Reilly stock only Silvers also? I'm strictly a commuter driver througout the city.
Fordem - I guess I"ll expect another +1 year or so from them. The stock replacement item I was recommended if necessary was the HL7 Xtravision. I saw HL11s and other Silvers, all Sylvania.

Reading other posts on disabling DRLs, but seems safer to keep them due Chicago's weather. BTW, still no snow +237 days. Staying in the 40's all week -Yippie!
