Congrat's on your purchase. Mine is approaching 12mths old and am really happy with the performance of the 3.2ltr so far, both on and off road. Though I have done little regarding off road mod's, I don't plan to do hard core off roading at the moment, that may come next year. Anyway, proud of my car so thought I would show off

That looks nice! How easy was it to install the side steps?? I ordered mine and will get it sometime this week.

What about the nudge bar? Does anyone know how to install or got lots of pics and instructions?

Mine was easy, I ordered the side steps through the dealer when I bought it and they fitted them and the nudge bar was done by a place here in Sydney. I didn't like the full nudge bar so mines only the half full chrome bar. I didn't install anything myself, I ticked just about every Suzuki option and they installed it. Just about $10K worth of options on my car and still more to ocme next year :-)

If you're buying the factory "Nudge Bar Garnish" then it will come with a step by step instruction sheet. There's not much to it. Basically you take the front bumper out, enlarge the holes where the number plate bolts are, install the brackets and bolt it all up.

If you want a primer on taking the front of the car off, I wrote up this a little while ago:
http://www.suzuki-forums.com/2g-2006...tml#post349977

I don't know who you're buying the bar from or how much you're paying, but I know retail is about a grand for those things. The only real benefit they offer is a reasonable under-body guard at the lip which gives some lead-in protection and a good mounting platform for additional spotlights. Other than that, they don't offer much.

Considering their cost, I'd opt for a mild spring lift, underbody protection plates or a set of AT tyres before buying that. If you're planning serious off-road adventures and would like the opportunity to fit a winch, save up for an ARB bull bar instead.

Thanks for the info DBO.
I got the nudge garnish 2nd hand for way less than the dealer price. But it's in good condition, not sure it comes with instructions though but he said has all the brackets etc.

I got the side steps through a dealer in Sydney, it was also a lot less than the rrp at other dealers.

When you say enlarge the holes, is that just putting a bigger nut/screw in there and turn it so it will just enlarge itself?

No. The purpose of enlarging the holes is for the main mounting bolts of the bar. You have to drill these out. You also have to snap off some minor bits on the inside of the bumper near the holes so you get a flush mount against the bracket.

It just so happens I've got the front of my car off (again..), so I've taken a quick photo of the inside bumper to show you where the pieces are that need removing.

Thanks DBO! Parts arrive today! Just in time for the weekend to come.

Anyway, i realise something, when i do a u-turn with full lock, it makes a noise, i'm not sure how to describe but it is subtle and sometimes i feel it's scrubbing something as i can feel it through the steering wheel. Is this normal?

If you're on factory rims and tyres there should be no scrubbing. First check that all plastic liners inside the guards are fastened. Have a good look around the wheel arch and tyres. If it's rubbing somewhere you'll see marks.

The most common source of noise at full lock is from a worn CV, but that's more of a clicking sound. Check your CV boots for holes or splits. Once the dirt gets in there, the bearing has a very limited life span. Sometimes it can also be a bit of grit between the brake callipers, so check if the noise changes if you apply some brake.

Got side steps installed!

Thanks DBO for the info. It does make noise from applying brakes in straightline - going 2-3kph and brake @ soft-to-medium it would make the same noise. Same noise appears when I accelerate while turning 45degrees to full lock and turning+going over drive ways. It's like low pitch of "croak-croak" noise. This noise dissappears at normal speed. Only slow + turning.

Any ideas? I have booked for Suzuki to check next Monday but I'm sure they will give me the "Oh it's normal" but i dont think it is. If there's something wrong, i want it fixed while it's still under warranty.

I have the exact same symptoms on my GV. Was doing this since I purchased (2nd hand @ 80k on clock) without any mods. Very curious on what answer you get as I was also going to get this looked into @ my 90k service through Suzuki dealer.
