Default Using remote to lock 2008 GV

When locking a 2008 GV using the remote the lights flash. Is there a way to program the horn to sound? Any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, the answer is no.

This question has been covered in detail before in this forum. You should be able to find all the info with a search, I believe it was a couple of years back.

Exactly. Or like my Subaru which picks up interference from other remotes and randomly goes off.

I am impartial to the honk, to me it signals out the perhaps paranoid people who double lock - most cars require a second press of the lock button to produce the honk.

I do wish that Suzuki put fender or mirror mounted turn signals on the Canadian GV as I would like better side visibility for both my turn signals and my lock/unlock indications. I'll have to keep my eye out for some fender mounted LED turn signal options.

Add my vote to those who think the honk-on-lock is offensive and unnecessary.

Are the Canadian GV's (09?) pre-wired for the fender signals? I'd be into adding those myself if it was fairly easy. You can almost always see a reflection of the signals on lock, or hear the faint click, but side signals would take any remaining guesswork away.

I also don't like the horn beeping for alarm functions. Especially the GV's comical jeepney horn. So when our aftermarket alarm was installed, I had it set up to disable the horn function when arming/disarming. I've noticed many newer vehicles have a quiet electronic beep for this instead of using the horn. Much nicer but still has an audio cue for those who want that.
