Funny you should mention that,i had a flat yesterday when i left for work,i did'nt have any problems lifting it with the stock jack. The running boards on mine stick out a fair bit to.

Can you give me some information on the nugde bar on the black GV in your pictures, i like it a lot mate.
X6 style has the same brakets as mine and it is OEM, so I assume there would be no problems.
When I installed my running boards on Rav, they also obstruct notches on the body, so I use stock jack where it possible to fit. How often you gonna use your jack, once-twice a year, so it wont harm body frame, also you can use some piece of wood.

The problem with scissors jack is that it's not very stable. Those notches on the body are making sure it doesn't slips away. Technically it is possible to use the jack under some other part of the body, and use a piece of wood, but it's not really safe.
