Default Grand vitara XL 7 CD player question

we just bought a 2005 Grand Vitara, used, but we can't figure out how to put CDs in the CD slot, disks won't go in. What is the trick to put a CD into the slot? No matter what we push, there seems to be some kind of blockage to take the CD.
On other cars, one just shoves the CD in and it gets pulled in,

Is there a special way to put a disk into the 6 CD player, it always jumps back to the radio.

thanks in advance for any answer.

No, you just slide the CD a little bit in and it gets pulled. May be it is already full of stucked CDs ?

thanks for replying.
When moving to show CD 1,2,3 etc 6 CD changer, all of them show empty.
Yes in my old Chevy, the CD just got pulled in, This one seems to have a black plastic only 1/2 inch in, blocking anything to be put in.
I nearly broke a CD trying to push in. No button being pushed, helps. It just jumps back to the radio station.
I am frustrated, since it is a used car with no warranties. I am trying to have the dealer to call me back, no luck yet.

is there a "load" button beside the slot?
if so, press that then select which position 1-6 and the slot should open

thanks in advance for any answer.
1) Turn on the radio
2) Press "CD"
3) Press "1" for loading to slot one
4) Press "Load" - Wait for the display to say "IN"
5) Insert CD

To load another, press empty slot (1 - 6), then follow from step 4 above.

It takes a while for it to get to the "IN" state, so one must have patience.

redwine1,

I notice in your first post that you have a 2005 Grand Vitara XL-7. That's the 1G Grand Vitara. This forum is for the 2G Grand Vitara 2006+. You also don't mention where you are located. Suzuki appears to use a slightly different audio unit in each geographic region and also seems to change the audio unit year to year as well.

You might have more luck finding the answer to your question in the 1G forums:

1G (1999-2005) Vitara & Grand Vitara - Suzuki Forums: Suzuki Forum Site
1G (2001-2006) XL-7 - Suzuki Forums: Suzuki Forum Site

Not that we don't like having visitors in this forum but you might be more successful talking to people you actually have the same vehicle and audio unit as yourself.

thanks for the answers, no luck.

I am in Ontario, Canada. I am new to forums so I didn't know where to post.
Dealer is not very helpful, but will look into it. I guess it is my bad luck for buying a used car.

It is possible the CD player is broken. I've replaced them before in older XL-7s before due to changer issues.

I can't find any answer on the mentioned 2005 site either.

I try to upload the CD slot picture, where it shows a plastic blockage that does not flip, open, slide or anything. I am very frustrated.
