Unhappy need new tires!!!!

I have an 06 grand vitara with 19000 miles. These yokohamas are done already!!I like this tire on how it rides and handles ,but 19000 miles? What a joke.I was hoping someone could suggest another tire that you have tried on the grand vitara.I live in northwest new jersey, no off roading but sometimes heavy snow in the winter. Thanks !!!

If you like all-seasons as I do, than go for Nokian Vatiivas. These are the best all seasons I had so far - excellent in snow!

If not than Yokohama would be my second choice. Aftermarket Geolandars will last you for much longer then the stock ones.

I also had BFGoodrich on my old GV, and they are good too - but pricey.

I put a set of Continental Cross Contact LX's on and so far they are a fantastic tire!!! The factory Yokohama's are garbage. They were already replaced on my 06 before i bought with 60000 kms. And the new tires were already on their way out. Stay away from Bridgestones!!!

19k!? I got 50k out of my stock Yokos. Anywho, I just recently replaced them with some great Michelin Energy's, which are more of the road tire type. As a result they have significantly increased steering response, lowered road vibration and noise; these tires also have the added benefit also being one of the most fuel efficient tires on the market... this remains to be seen, but so far so good.

If it's any consulation to you, these tires kinda suck at everything. I'm hoping mine will wear out quickly so I can justify putting decent rubber on it. I've heard good things about the Nokians that Taras mentioned, but they are a little pricey. Especially if you only deal w/ roads and snow.

On a different note tire wise... Anyone ever run the BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO
BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO
Looking for a good 50/50 tire.

Why the Bridgestones are sucks? I have the 2 set of them on my Toyota and quite happy, they last aprox. for 60K miles and good in snow/icy.

My dad has Bridgestones on his GMC truck. I can't say they are bad, but neather can I say they are very good. Bridgestones are OK tires.

By the way, the Suzuki in Europe comes with Bridgestones as per stock. I drove it during last winter and I can say that just on the quite icy road mixed with little bit snow (really black ice like the ice skating ring) they wont keep your vehicle straight, but in general for the large city with mixed ice, snow, dirty in winter they are really good as all season tires.

i put goodyear comfort treads on my 06 GV. they are very quite and should last much longer than stock yokos. they are a "car" tire but my GV never sees snow or off road conditions.
