Hi Surfrsk,

Pioneer does have a kit for the GV:
12.301295-08 Pioneer Car Accessories - In CarĀ*Entertainment

I am using the Garmin Nuvi 760 which I attached on top of the dash of my GV and it works great.

Being portable I can remove the Garmin and use it on another vehicle.
A few weeks ago I went to New Mexico and brought the Garmin with me and used it on a rental car from Albuquerque to Santa Fe and had a great time.

surfrsk,

The XL7 navi unit will only work in the XL7. It is tied into the canbus (LAN) system and will theft lock if it does not receive the "alls OK" signal from the BCM and ECM. The navi unit aslso requires an external amplifier to work correctly and the eq is tuned specifically for the XL7.

Then there's the price...

Navi radio $4318 CDN
Navi Antenna $116
Navi dvd disc $502

As suggested by DC-IT, it would be better to install an aftermarket nav unit

Cheers,

Tim

I was told by my dealer that the nav system on the XL7 did not allow them to put the pass lock (keep the key fob in your pocket and push buttons) system. If you do not have this, then not an issue. Also it would be better to pick up a d3 z2 or something as an alternatives.
