Hi semco,

Thanks for your inputs on the front fog lights. It is a good idea to use the emergency flashing lights, to add in your being visible to other motorists.

Cheers,

Semco,

Just for your info, I was watching a show a while back & the best pratice in dense fog if you realy need to stop due to the fog is to pull over as far as you can on the soft shoulder & close all of your lights. The reason for this is in most case, the driver of the car behind tend to follow the front car lights to help navigate through the fog & by having your lights & hazard on you are just putting yourself in danger especialy in dense fog.

After watching that show it changed my way of thinking on different aspect of driving.

Hope this help.

Cheers

Marc

That is indeed good advice Mark, the vehicles following behind could smash into your rear if the lights are still on. Safer to park the car, and keep your seatbelt on while in the vehicle in case of a collision.

Cheers,

Thanks Marc
That makes a lot of sense.
Never thought of it that way!

Before I got my GV, I drove several times through dense fog in my Dodge Caliber with the fog lights on.

In poor visibilty conditions I made sure I slow down and drive according to the road conditions.

I've seen many SUVs in the ditches 'cos they ignored the road conditions and drove too fast.
