Hi Ironrat. Glad you like my chrome. It wasn't too hard to do. Yes-my rims are 16 inch. Hi PowmacP. Yes-my 2008 gv was from 417 Suzuki in Ottawa. Kassem was the saleman. Got a great end of the month deal. How was your experience? I used to be a HUGE Mazda fan. Had a 1990--323, 1992--323, 1993--B-2600, 1995--Protoge, 2001--Tribute. I do feal more confident in Suzuki's engineering even though it has only 5,100km on it. Just didn't want those speakers. I bought mine at XS-Cargo. Took the last 2 pair. But Canadian Tire does have a very simular pair of Sony's. Hi DC-IT, Just make sure they are 4ohms. Hi Taras. You are right. $50 is a good deal. And my opinion. Depending on your spending limit and taiste for sound quality, ANYTHING is better than the stock speakers.

Hey Gary,

We had a brand new salesman. His name is Rob. He was acting like a real salesman. He seemed to know is in's & out on the GV. Very good service in general. We actualy went around quite a few dealer ships prior to decide to get the GV. Although the only SUV that we road tested was the Pontiac Torrent & the GV & let me tell you that the GV as a better ride & the seats or way more confortable. Kia's service just across the road sucked, Mazda didn't want us there & Toyota was way to expensive. So so far I am glad we chose the GV.

Thanks for reply Taras.

I just bought 2 sets of the Sony from BestBuy in Ajax as they were sold out in most other locations.

I had the opportunity to listen to the Sony compared to Alpine and found that the Sony is just less clear than the Alpine but the difference is too minute to bother me as I mainly listen to the Radio when I am on the road.

I travel over 200 KM per day so hopefully the Sony will sound sweeter than the OEM speakers.

BTW, I also got Suzuki technician to install a Parrot CK3100-LCD BlueTooth Hands Free set to let me make and receive calls from my BlackBerry Cell Phone.
The Parrot works like a charm.
I also ordered the component to hook up to the steering Volume controls to let me answer calls via the steering controls.

However Suzuki Tech said not to install it as to do so would require splicing into the electrical wiring and that would void Suzuki's warranty!

You actually bought speakers @ XS cargo.
I am assuming then that any 4ohm speaker @6.5" Dia will work better then stock.
Bought mine @ Carelton Place in 07
Going in for my 25,000Kms service next week or so.
So far better then my 03 honda accord V6 as far as warranty issues. None on the GV lots on the Accord V6.
Gotta like the suzuki's
Cheers

Hey there GSXRMyers. I was very hesitent to buy them there. But I went with my wife and her daughters boyfriend who knows EVERYTHING about speakers. He also couldn't believe the quality of the ones I bought. Waterproof, all special rubber and plastic and a uge magnet covered completely with plastic material. They truely sound awesome. Love your bike. Hi Ironrat. I WISH we had 17". Can you show me what yours looks like? I COMAND YOU!---{ sounds better coming from you }...You must have better ground clearance. Mine is 11.5" from the flat pavement to the bottom of the driver's door. I measured from under the mirror area, since the back is a little higher. Hey Taras...what's your clearance? Is it a little harder to get inside from the rear doors? What about exposure to your mufler from the rear. Don't worry, I do like the way it looks. But my wife would stangle me if I did that.

I will take the photo this weekend since my Suzi sleeps all week on a multifloor parking on the company I work. I use a company car :-).

To tame your curiosity a bit....the 17 inch wheels look the same as the 16. Just bigger. BTW they dont add ground clearance, remember that the wheel&tire combination must have the same circumference.

17th look a lil bit different guys. And we do have 17th here in Canada, on JLX models.

My ground clearence is 3 inches higher then stock on the front, and a bit more than 3" on the back. I measured to the bottom of the front bumper lip: stock 9", tires 10", tires and lift 12". Muffler is kinda exposed now, but it doesn't bother me, I might buy some shiny aftermarket one later down the road. I don't have problems getting into the car it's even easier for me now (I'm 6'2"). My grandma doesn't share the feelings though!
