Many thanks for the info on the interior of the 2009 GV. Hopefully we will be able to see photos of the North American version GV. I am sure it will differ slightly from the Japanese Escudo RHD, in terms of headlights with built-in reflectors, and other US/Canada-spec items.
Cheers,
GV real SUV

Beige cloth or leather int. in black, beige and white ext.; black cloth or leather int. in blue, grey and silver ext. The beige int. models have the dark wood accents that only the leather models had previously (both colours), while the black int. now has a kind of black/grey marbled "wood" trim that I wasn't sure about at first but is definitely growing on me. I have to say I prefer the beige cloth to the beige leather, and I was sure it was going to be the other way around. (I like the black better overall, cloth and leather, but I had low expectations for the GV beige cloth based on the SX4 sedan's beige cloth.)
I've driven both engines now, and I have to say I LOVE the I4. Very peppy and quieter than the old V6 on the h/way IMO. The new V6 is awesome of course but you'll pay for that in extra fuel consumption. I drive mostly city with a touch of h/way so I'll opt for the I4 next year. (Yeah: looks like I'm getting a white 2008 V6 in a couple of weeks as the 09's are reserved for dealers at the moment.)
Man, I love the blue! Damn it's going to be popular here.

If you search the forum, you'll find tons of info about lift kits. Short answer to your question: I have 50mm (2.125") Rocky Road Lift kit, and I didn't have to adjust my driving style. In theory - risk of rollover is higher, but in real life - I don't feel any difference. Suzuki handles as good as before.

Hi all!!!
I'm new and I'm writing from Italy..(so...sorry for my English...)!!
I've bought an NGV 1.6lt 3doors in March 2008 and I was looking for automatic shift gear's car...obviously in Italy only manual shift was possible on the 3 doors.....(and it's the only one WITHOUT the central diff lock and the low gear option....)
I'm very happy to know that probably the next year will be possible to buy a 2.4lt automatic NGV...
BUT:
anyone knows if this model will be sold in Europe? I'm decided to import in Italy the NGV from Germany or anything else if it needed, but I'm not sure that the new version will be imported in our continent.....
I'm really happy about this car (my previously one was a Nissan Patrol GR 2.8lt 6cyl turbo 1989....nothing to compare....) But in our market is the last "4x4 offroad like" car that you can buy under 30.000 euros.(SORRY: IS POSSIBLE TO BUY ALSO THE SUZUKI JIMNY AND THE LADA NIVA, BUT I WAS LOOKING FOR SOMETHING MORE LIKE THE NGV...)
I'm not interested about 5doors, because our law have some "discount" on taxes for 3doors truck vehicles.
If someone knows something, please let me know because I want to convert my own for GPL system instead petrol....
This modify will be very invasive so I've to be sure that I will not sold my car for many years....
Thank you just now for your answers and many thanks for your forum!!!!!!
"Suzuki is confident that the toughened front end and body structure, along with six airbags, will improve the previous Grand Vitara's four-star crash rating.
Thicker steel is now used around the engine bay and engine supports, while at the back the independent rear suspension is stronger with better location to the monocoque body and its built-in ladder frame chassis."
