Default Have you lost a Roof Rack end Cap?

The end caps on the Suzuki roof rack bars can fall out quite easily. Several published reviews on the GV has pointed this out.

I lost one of mine and was told by Suzuki Canada that if I wanted a replacement I had to purchase a new roof rack!

A little digging on the internet and I discovered the rack is made buy Mont Blanc and it's called the AeroWing and replacement caps are available.

So if you lose an end cap don't despair....

They are available from Perrycraft 800-777-7081

MB-121054-EPLG-L left hand $7.95 ea
MB-121055-EPLG-R right hand 7.95 ea

There are 2 different bars associated with this rack. Suzuki uses the non concentric shaped bar (shaped like an aeroplane wing -thicker trailing edge) so be sure to specify the above model numbers.

I ordered 4 replacements just in case. You may want to put a little "locktight" on you caps to prevent them popping out.

Excellent information.

The other day I noticed the rubber inserts on the tops of both crossbars had slid sideways in their slots. The rubber strips then pushed off both end caps. Fortunately neither one fell off, but I'm going to have to do something about this. I may also email Mont Blanc to point out the difficulty in getting their rack to mount securely.

(After exploring web pages, it appears Mont Blanc does not specify this rack for this GV, so maybe it's an "unsupported" application.)

There has been concern that the rubber pads are easy to lose, and I think one participant lost a pad. Are those also available?

Hey man, thank you for the advice. I'll buy something to attach more strongly those end caps.

By rubber foot do you mean the end caps?

My dealer here in Canada told me they are not sold separately and I'd have to buy another rack if I wanted the end cap! Sounds like your dealer is working a little harder for you

There are two roof-rack options for Suzuki. Earlier models had a unit which attached directly to the runner whilst the latest revision is an OEM unit made by Montblanc. I have the Montblanc edition which has the same problem with end-caps. I sent an email to Montblanc tech support and they sent replacment end caps at no charge. The model is the 3700 Aerowing. Simply visit Mont Blanc roof racks, roof boxes and other car accessories
Click on "Contact" -> Product support. Send a request for model 3700 Aerowing replacement end caps. I wouldn't mention Suzuki OEMs btw - might cause confusion.

Cheers.

Hey Pav...I wish I'd have thought about that as it would have saved me $35. I wish suzuki was aware of this issue and would stock some replacement caps instead of telling customers they are not replaceable.

Default Lost End Caps

Thanks for the info. Just ordered my replacement caps. Hopefully you have one still on and can grab a photo with the 6 digit SN inside the cap to confirm model as they have undergone some new replacement types. The 800 number still works and it worked out to be $7.45 US per cap and shipping by USPS. If you chose courier you will regret the extra duty and brokerage fees to Canada. Buyer beware - mail service only. Thanks a lot Suzuki Forum.

Yes, Canadians should never have anything sent across the border from the US by courier. Other options are to ship to a parcel pickup services in the US and go pick up the stuff. Customs doesn't have time to charge duty etc. most of the time. Some of these companies have outlets in Canada, which can work out better than having Canada Post deliver to your door or mail box.
