Default Aux input?

Hey eevryone, sorry if this has been asked but i couldnt find anything.

I see that my Xsport model has a button on the cd player that says "Aux"

Does this mean there arer some RCA or headphone plgs some where so i could plug in a dvd player or mp3 player through it?

Because i plan on putting a dvd player in but i would like not to have to use an FM modulator or replace the stereo imediatly.

Thanks!

Auxiliary inputs allow you to plug in different devices so that they can be audible through your car stereo speakers. all that is needed is the device(mp3, dvd, sat.radio, etc.), and a standard 3.5mm stereo cable.

Most units have the Aux jacks in the back. they will either be RCA jacks or a direct 3.5mm jack. I have yet to take out a new GV unit, but im willing to say that its in the back. You'll occasionally find some units with the jack on the front face, but you would see that right away.

Ok i started to read some of these other threads and it looks liek you have to buy the Aux CEnet device for the clarion so that you can use it. I guess I will try to get that.

I will need it for my PMP and for a dvd player so i guess i'll have a splitter on it.

Thanks!

I have searched the Clarion web site for the CeNET Aux input adaptor and cannot see anything there. All I can find is the iPod interface and CeNET extension cables. Does anyone have a link, or a part number for the CeNET Aux input adaptor?

The Aux adapter only works with a cd changer hooked up...

Default 2006 GV XL_7 and Aerio AUX input

FYI

All of the 2006 Suzuki Products from Japan (Grand Vitara, XL_7 and Aerio) have an AUX input prewired under the dash. You do not need a CD changer for it to work, it does not require the use of the ce-net.

It Requires a special adaptor cable to active it and tell the stereo something is attached.

Suzuki does not offer this cable.. but.. I have figured out the circuit required to active the input.

I now have cables available for anyone interested. It has a plug, with the circuit built in to activate the "AUX" option on the deck, and fits into the factory connector under the dash . The cable is about 3.5 feet long and has a 3.5mm male stereo plug on the end

Once the cable is installed, you can press the CD/AUX button and it will cycle between the 2 options and the Display will say "AUX LOW". If you press the Seek up or down, it will change the input gain from "Low"- "MID"- "HI"

It takes less then 5 minutes to install. I have tested this in all models and it works perfectly.

Please e-mail me if you are interested tim(dot)mccabe(at)sympatico(dot)ca for details.

Cheers,

Tim

Default AUX input

This cable gives you an AUX input into the stereo, so you can listen to an MP3 player, DVD player, Sat radio... what ever you want, as long as it has a headphone jack to plug into.

There is a plug behind the glove box that my cable plugs into, this activates the AUX function in the stereo. The other end of the cable has a headphone plug that you plug into the audio device you want to listen to.

Here is a picture of the radio display in my Aerio with the cable installed..

Please let me know if you have any more questions.

Cheers,

Tim
