Has anyone figured out how to access the back of the stereo on the 07 GV???
I got the dealer to install the Clarion unit and I have to say that I am not impress with its capabilities. I do not suggest this unit to anyone.
I would like to install Tim's cable myself but I am unsure on where to start. I cant seem to find how to unlatch the silver trims on the centre console.
If you open the small cubby under the heater controls you will see a small gap between the console and the silver trim.
You can place a small screw driver into the gap there to lift the trim with out having to worry about damaging the surface.
Slowly remove the trim from the bottom to the top..
thanks for the info Tim, I will give it a try when I get some time off.
Out of curiosity, with that Clarion box currently installed in my GV, where do you suppose the box is located. If I am planning on putting in that wire in, will it be in a place where I wont be able to reach?
The Clarion iPod interface is usually just tie wrapped behind the stereo some where.
If you pop your glovebox down (just pop the damper off the right side and squeeze the sides together), you should be able to see the control unit. Just follow the docking cable back to it.
It was my pleasure to help out! Ongs went the extra mile to figure out which pins were which, and the PC CD/DVD audio pin connector that fits was a GREAT find!
I'll have a HowTo up using Ongs info on the gvoc in a few days hopefully.
Now you 2007 guys can make your own and save some money!

Griff,
Feel free to use any of the info from my website - the phots were too big to upload to your site...
And GV Real SUV: Sound quality is great. I directly connect the ipod audio out to the AUX connector I made.

Hello onglipo,
Many thanks for your reply, I will study very carefully what both you and Griff have done so that the sound technician can make the same set-up for my GV!
