Hi I have a 2003 Suzuki Grand Vitara XL-7 2.0 TD, the engine code is RHW believe this is the peugeot engine.

I am based in the UK, believe the vehicle is UK spec.

Am new to this forum, so apologies if I miss any details out, but would appreciate some assistance as have read some posts tried the advice given but still cannot get it to start.

Story so far:-

I parked my suzuki up and the next day came to try and start it, the engine turns over but won't start. Got the AA guy to come out and look at it, he fired diesel straight into the engine and tried starting it, still nothing, turns over but no start. His diagnosis was that maybe the timing belt had slipped slightly and so the engine timing was slightly out, the guy seemed a bit of a spanner and was more telling me how much the AA screwed him over. He also checked that the fuel was getting through to the engine and there was definitley fuel there, the top of my engine is testament to that.

Anyways I got a mechanic to check the timing belt, removed the timing belt cover and checked belt, said no issue with that and that maybe it was an electrical fault.

Next I got a diagnostic done on it, and again showed no fault. The guy rang a friend who had worked on the peugeot engine before, he stated that maybe it was an injector fault and to get the injectors checked. The mechanic checked the injectors with this bottle contraption and said that looked like two of the injectors were knackered. Took his word for it and went off pricing up injectors (omg how expensive are they). Anyways in the meantime got another call off the mechanic and he stated that he checked the injectors again with his bottle contraption, in fact three times, and each time it showed different injectors as being faulty. He suggested that he thought it was more than likely an electrical fault rather than the mechanical injectors, however the diagnostic machine doesnt show up any errors.

So now I am at a complete loss, dont want to take it to the dealers as will get screwed over completely, but do need to sort it somehow.

When I try and start the car the glowplug light goes out, the engine management and the abs just as usual. I crank the key, the engine turs over and tries to start but no start, tried until battery drained, have charged the battery again.

Any ideas?
