Unhappy Sound when engine starts aftre long running

Hi ,

when I start my engine in the morning or whenever its idle for long time then my Xl7 2001 rpm is high. But when suddenly I pushed the same in Reverse or drive and press brake
a noise trrrrrrrrrrrrr comes from engine for few moments the moment I pressed my brake and after that it vanishes.

I'm not sure what is the cause of this issue.Does it mean that I've to wait for my RPM goes down then I need to put into drive?
Yes I know that I've to replace transmission oil because firestone suggested the same but when I showed to local mechanic he says fliud is ok as of now and can be run for more.
Pls suggest me I'm new to Suzuki Xl 7.

Thanks
R

If the noise is sort of a buzzing or rapid rattling sound it could be from an exhaust shield becoming loose. Check all shields from the motor back.

Basically you have to get under the truck, and perhaps under the hood for some of them, and reach around to feel each of the shields that shroud various parts of the exhaust system. If you can move any of them they are loose and can rattle. A muffler shop will check for you but will also try to sell you a new part rather than put a large hose clamp around it and tighten it down. A friend of mine recently went into a muffler shop with just such a problem and they told him he needed a new catalytic converter (the shield on the cat was loose). By the time he got out of there he was close to $800 poorer. I told him I could install a lot of hose clamps for a fraction of that.

Because metal expands and contracts with heat/cold and 'buzzes' more at certain vibrational frequencies at different engine RPMs. (RPM means Revolutions Per Minute.)

Just check for loose parts.

also there 3 brackets that support the exhaust. one just below each upstream cat, and one in the middle of the y-pipe.
these sometimes break and cause a rattle noise at certain RPM.
have GOOD close look at all three..
