Default Does anyone know if a 3rd row seat can be installed on the 2002 XL7?

I have a 2002 XL-7 and I believe it is a Standard edition that doesn't have a 3rd row seat. I am expecting an addition to my family and would love to install a 3rd row seat. Does anyone know if it can be installed? I can get a used seat for about $100, but not sure how it would work.

Thanks.

I've taken mine out- it's mostly a simple bolt in type thing. I'd imagine you'd have all the relevant holes in the floor pan?

The only drama might be the rear side trim where the seats belts come out of?

So, make sure you get all the bolts, headrests, upper side rear trims and seat belts- otherwise it might work out expensive.

You will lose a lot of rear luggage space (even with them folded). But the upside is there is a proper foot well so even adults can sit in there without being too constricted. PS: There will be next to no luggage space left with them in the upright position.

I'd appreciate it. I've attached pix of what my floor looks like.
Thanks a lot for your help.

Also, it looks like there are only 2 fixtures on the floor unless I'm missing something. But it's all that was there once I removed the styrofoam pad. I do have seat belts bays on the sides.

How many bolts were holding your seat?

Hmmmm... It does actually look different to mine- but I'll have to take some pics.

I'm certain I don't have those two metal "spikes" sticking up at what would be the front of the rear row squab.

I'll try and get some pics tonight.

Here you go- pics are here:
Index of /~murcod/XL-7/Rear Seats

You should be able to make out the bolts that hold the seats in - I've just refitted them into the floor pan to seal the holes. Those front bits on your floor pan are definitely different.

Mine is a Jap made XL-7, but I would think that would make much difference?

Thanks for the pix. Mine is also Jap made. How many bolts were holding your seat as it doesn't look like I have enough holes? I know you've done a lot for me, but is there any way at all you can mark the holes where seat was bolted down? And if not can you possibly tell me if it was on the raised part of the floor, the bottom part or the four little spikes that you have on the pics?

Thank you so much for your time.

Btw, the styrofoam pad was tied to the two front bits that are sticking out on my floor.

The bolt holes that are used for the seat are circled in red. The arrows point to one bolt either side that isn't in the pic. See the side trim pic and you'll see the missing bolt.

You've also got the front brakets that the seat squab clips into- I think they're welded to the floor? Plus those other brackets (right angle ones) near the rear- I'm not sure what exactly they're for? It might be something to do with the tool box bit that mounts on the floor behind the rear seats (I've taken that out too.)

I really appreciate all the help. You're the only one who was able to answer my questions. I actually tried dealership, tried to contact Suzuki directly, and tried to talk to the salvage people - nobody has a clue.

By the way, is yours a 2004 model?

Thanks a lot.

2004 Limited - so updated model with sunroof and leather.

I would think the seats would be the same as the pre update model?
