My 02's EGR was partially blocked last year and threw a code. I was going to remove it and clean it myself but a local mechanic friend did it for $100 for me. It was a 4+ hour job.
Hi Max, got the EGR valve off, intake mainifold hole was clogged down to about 1/16 inch. cleaned out but the pipe that comes from the exhaust to the egr intake, has a crack, do you know what this pipe is called?
Also, found the evap canister about half way back under a shield, under the car beside the catalytic converter.
The pipe has a corrugated end that is cracked in the corrugation. Not sure what it is called to replace it.
You can see it in the pictures earlier in this post, upper right, from the exhaust to the intake manifold.
Hey Max. got the egr valve cleaned out. I tested the purge valve per the manual. Ohms read correct. flow when i blow in one side as specified. Opens when hooked up to 12volt. the valve does not open, i had the car up and reved to about 2500 rpm, the valve does not open? do yoiu know what sensor triggers this. Also the tank pressure control valve actually has an electrical connection on it. the manual shoes just a mechanical unit??
