Default Evap Canister (Purge?) Valve

I've had my check engine light come on sporadically several times over the last year or two and each time the dealership claimed it was a loose gas cap. Given the frequency of the problem, I had them check it out a bit further and they pinpointed a faulty Evap Canister Valve (or VALVE,EVAP CSTR as it is written on the invoice). They wanted to charge me a pretty penny for installation, so I opted to buy the part and install it myself.

Thus the question - where is it? It seems like a fairly simple part to install - 3 connections - but I have to find it first.

TIA,
Tyler

Have a look in the engine bay. Mine has got two black plastic canisters- one behind the passenger side headlight, the other a bit more hidden on the driver's side of the engine near the front suspension tower. (Note I'm talking on a RHD model.)

One of them should be what you're looking for.

Default Found it!

It was in the center back area right above the engine - easily accessible. Took 10 minutes to install and saved me from spending the $80 the dealership wanted to install it.

Thanks for the help!

Default Where to buy the part

Where can I buy the part? Seems I don't have a local dealer regular parts stores don't carry it. Is there a similar Chevy Tracker part number? I've got an '08 Grand Vitara.
