Default Fuel consumption

Hi everybody,

You see, recently I've bought my Suzuki XL7 (2004). It's nice. It has only 6100 miles of mileage, but it seems to me it eat more fuel than it should. For example, for 100 miles (sity and highway) it took nearly half of a tank (not less than 3/5 of it).
Well, maybe it just seems to me.
Would anybody, please, share your expirience on this topic.
Thank you all.

That is about right, especially in the winter. I will get anywhere from 90-130 miles on a half tank in mixed driving. We have a 2002.

Regards,

Ivan, kc5yti

yea in the winter, i get about 225 miles on a tank and around 275 when the temperature is warm. Also, I heard that these xl-7s break in around 7500 miles so you should get slightly better mileage when you accumulate more miles.

Hi everybody,

and a very special thanks to STORMCHASERXL-7 and neal2go!!!

By the way, may be it will be interesting to you. Awating for your possible answers I' made a test. Its point is to fill up the tank and run 100 miles. After that go to fill it up again. My result is 6.5 gallons for 100 miles.

Thank you all again,

Alex

I've read mixed reviews about the K&N filters. Anyone else use them on the XL-7?

I have an 04 Xl-7 with 103K on it. I put in a K&N over a year ago and saw an increase. I recently moved from NC to OH. During the trip up I averaged 22.5 MPG. The K&N was worth the money... You can get one from any auto parts store. But I ordered mine from Autoanything.com Great price and free shipping.

Hope that helps.
