Installing fog lights.

My new fog lights arrived from the UK last night. I purchased them there as they were 50% cheaper than Spain. As I did not buy them from the Suzuki dealer they will not fit them so I am going to have to have a go myself.

I have spent a couple of hours searching through the forum looking for tips on the subject. Unfortunately there is a lot of contradictory information. Can some knowledgeable owner please give me some instructions on the wiring. I would also like to know if the existing fog light blanks have to be cut out (which means removing the bumper) or can they just be knocked out.

There is provision on the left hand side of my dash ( I have a left hand drive) for the fog light switch along side the rear fogs and headlight adjustment. Unfortunately the available space is deeper in height than I require to install the switch. Any suggestions on how I get round this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I've sent you an email. Wiring shouldn't be difficult. If I've got it right you've alreday got one fog light and are just adding the second?

I think I've had a senior moment. You're fitting front fog-lights you've sourced from the UK and we'll still with the rear one as per the last mail?

I'm happy to have a look a the wiring on the front fog-lights on my GV, but since they were fitted from new I've never looked.

my silver one had them but the green one dont i looked into it you will need new wiring and you will need to take bumper of for ease and cut the holes out for them make sure that they are proper fit to the bumper lights.
for the fogs you may have got a switch to fit in the dash but prop didnt you will pref need a relay and a switch and a live feed from the side light bulb to the relay

I was thinking about the same, like installing a pair of fog lights in the front bumper, wiring is no big deal ...
But tell me the fog lights you purchased in UK are exclusively for Grandvitara (easiar to be fitted) or other brand like PIAA

The lamps I have purchased are via eBay. Here is the link SUZUKI GRAND VITARA 98-05 FRONT FOG SPOT LIGHT LAMP SET en venta en eBay.es (finaliza el 29-ene-09 11:05:09 H.Esp)

As the advert says they are specifically for the GV 99-05 model. When I got them back here to Spain however, I have to admit that the fitting did look different from a photo I saw on this group of the factory models.I have spoken with the UK suppliers and they assure me that they will fit with no problems. We will see.

In the meantime I have to cut out the existing blanks in the bumper. I would really welcome some tips on removing the front bumper and cutting out these blanks. My problem is that where I live the local Suzuki garage are not very helpful, in fact they do little work on Suzukis but take in any make. There are no accessory shops or anyone around who I can ask for guidance. This is one of the reasons why I joined this group.

What may be a simple procedure to the majority of members to me is normally complicated. I really could do with some help no matter how small.

As requested please find shots of the lights I have purchased. Also please note that I would really appreciate receiving instructions on how to remove front bumper and cut out blanks.

they´re very nice . Maybe i´ll forget about using another kind of aftermarket brand.
About your doubts, lets see...
One of my concerns is about air bag sensor, i don´t now where it is

for removing the bumper i will upload a PDF to get the general idea.
To remove the blanks i was thinking about using a hole saw drill.
i´m not a specialist just love now and then to change someting in my Suzukis

Can I add a wee bit to this .I have done this recently.The harness was already there for lights. Easy to access after Bumper is removed carefully.A relay came with the lights and I had to buy another holder designed to hold front and rear light switches. I got this from a suzuki dealer(not expensive) I carefully cut out the recesses with acraft knife but make sure you arent to greedy better less than oversize holes.
