Default Question on remote for doors for Chevy Tracker

I just bought this 2002 Chevy Tracker convertible. It has central locking, power windows, day time running lights, cruise, aluminum rims and some other features.
Did this car come with remotes for the doors originally? I don't have information on the packages that were available in 2002.
I just wonder if there are supposed to be remotes or not and if yes if new remotes can be added and programmed although the old ones are missing.

Thanks

not sure but I think it did come with the truck originally. And I DO know that in 02 they were not programmable.. so you will have to replace the whole thing if you cannot find the old ones

Thanks. Do you know where the receiver sits? (If there is one).
But I guess I leave it. Not worth to spend that much money.
I don't lock it most of the time anyhow. If somebody want to break in, they could do by unzipping the rear windows.

Thanks a lot
Stefan

I'd suggest simply adding an after market alarm system. You'll get new remotes, returned door locking capability AND security for less than buying coded OEM remotes at the dealer.

That is an interesting idea. Whereby alarm on a soft top Tracker? Anybody can unzip it from outside.

Sure, but a potential thief has to get by the starting circuit being disabled, blaring siren sounds and the shock sensor features. Hey! If they want ANY car bad enough, it's gone!

Another option...
