ok, Im talking a short extension.

the factory o2 is run long distance via a shield coax cable (crude type) but is shielded and grounded.

so, you do realise this same sensor is used on many cars, and all have diff length wires.

if you want to , you could extend them with shielded wire. if you desire.
it is your choice.

the top reason if putting in resistance would be.
twisted wires and electricians tape.
then wire nuts.
then cheap exposed crimp blocks'
butt splices.

only solding the wires and then heat shrinking them will assure a life time of use.
if you need a connnectors we can give you gold pinned and seals connectors.

one last trick is the switch the wires, this creates a virtual shield.

yes , the connection must be prefect and must not go bad with water splashes.
