Whenever possible I eliminate the hunt for my need. Time/gas=$. Fabrication= even more.
Yesterday when I went to the glass shop to get some adhesives, and your behalf, I asked the owner; If I make a pattern of the needed glass for my hardtop, can you cut the glass, bore the needed holes and get it tempered? His answer....Yes. So my suggestion is that you very accuratley make your template and take it to a local shop. Tell them what you want. Don't forget to tell them you want tinted glass. Stop wasting time. Pay once for what you want to be right. You tried. Which is likely the same I would have done myself.
