why is this?
Ok so kinda got a long story but here we go.
So over six months ago I tore apart my front third member tiring to show up a jeep.
It took two months for the local u-pull-it to get one in stock.
Then it took about two more months to locate an oil seal for it.
Thanks hawks Suzuki for that.... Finally got all the parts to put the 4wd back together yippee right.
Then I noticed my coolant coming out the overflow.
My head gasket blew so another month or so down.
So now back to the problem, the 3rd member that I got came out of a 96 5speed 4 dr. (my sig has my stats.) so finally I got it tog eater and for about a month or two I have been having the hardest time getting half shaft in to the diff.
Today I finally got the time to pull it all down. the 3rd member is wrong?
I was under the impression that there the same if its the same ratio.
Here is whets wrong about it.
The half shaft fits the spline on the pass side but not the drivers side.
The shaft on the pass. side is to short and wont lock in, it bottoms out before it hits the clip.
The drivers side shafts splines are two small to work.
I might of figured out what’s wrong I’m looking as a limited slip unit on pure Suzuki and its says *Requires the use of '96-'98 model 26-spline axle shafts*
So does the 96 have bigger axel shafts???
Sorry about all the questions….
