I have a '91 Tracker which was available with either ECU/fuel injection or carb. Mine had the injection. The injection model had a cat, the carb model did not. When replacing exhaust, I put the carb model exhaust on (it was 1/4 the price). I'm not a mechanic, and didn't know anything about ECU adjustment for running car without cat or anything like that. I don't do inspection here, so don't know about exhaust gas, etc. However, my Tracker never ran any differently, still gets 25/32mpg, etc., has same power, etc. I know the other more knowledgeable people on this forum do not recommend running the Tracker without the cat with the ECU, etc., but I never noticed a difference. There is a recent post about the same issue...query it and you'll see the arguments against doing this.
