i understand the basics of gears and ratios, i just dont quite understand how it works with cars, i know for example 4:1 would be 4 revolutions of the engine to 1 ???.
as far as what i need, my rig is fine right now, it doesnt need it, but just from what ive heard with lifts and bigger tires, its a good idea to gear it.
as far as lifting and changing th center of gravity, i plan in using 1 1/4" wheel spacers. i know, not as good as reverse style rims, but that should at least help.
but i guess my main question is, when i do lift it, get bigger tires, and decide the gearing does need to be lower (all assuming of course) what is the stock ratio, and what would be a good ratio to gear it too?
