Yes the 4 speed's OD is actually a 4th gear. It has TCC which might be what people think of "OD" on most cars.
My '95 Sidekick has a separate Trans Control Module, but it ties into a lot of signals from everywhere, like the TPS, etc, so I will bet it is a big job.
