I have now confirmed auto hubs are locking. With back wheels jacked and hubs removed, when in 4wd & in gear the front drive shaft splines are turning...but i can hold them with a pair of mole grips. Can anyone guide me as to where on drive chain to check next. Something must be slipping (CV) or even stripped (gulp crown wheel). There is quite a bit of play in the drive shaft end when the hub is off.
Any help ... or ideas welcomed.
