vsv and too hot
91 8v. same as mine.
vsv.
(get one at a wrecker ,cuz store ones are expensive)

3x VSV, on 8v ,evap, egr and dash pot.

if evap stays open, car will race on 8v (air leaks at idle will cause this)
if dashpot vsv stuck closed the car will race over 2k. dashpot will be open holding open throttle for ever .
last EGR VSV.
if stuck open ,car will never idle again.
if stuck closed ,car will just run bad . ECU is tuned for working EgR.

HOW DO YOU KNOW ITS TOO HOT, not that silly useless dash guage i hope.
signs, give me signs.
HOT,
bad pump, impeller rotted off.
bad rad, clogged tubes.

there are many others. (timing off , retarded ign. or slipped cam tbelt)
gross loose fan belt , nah.
Thermostat not opening, (youtook it out as a test ,nah)
tons of crap in water jackest, clooged with rust , scale or who knows.

id take out rad,and back flush it .
id take out pump and eyeball it.

but before that. id check ign timing
if at spec, ok
if not then check belt has slipped. TBELT.
if you already corrected ign timing then you just hid the Tbelt issue.
IGN timing dont go off. if it does, TBELT time.

over-heating-why?
